Receiving Communion at Christ Church
Since we believe that this is God's table and we are its stewards, our custom is to welcome all seekers to take part in communion with us. If you have not received communion before in the Episcopal Church, it is a simple matter. Come forward at the time of communion and place one hand, palm up, inside the other to receive the bread, then, assist the chalice bearer in bringing the chalice to your lips to take a sip of wine. If your own tradition does not permit, or if you are uncertain about receiving the bread and wine, consider coming forward for a blessing by crossing your arms over your chest. We believe that the risen Christ is particularly present to us in this moment of communion and we invite you to join us in the feast that begins here and continues forever.
