Wondering about receiving communion at Christ Church Cambridge? Learn About Sacraments

Worship at Christ church may be described as traditional in its components yet adventurous in its scope and design. The Book of Common Prayer (1979) is our primary document for worship, yet there is an ease around including new texts and themes appropriate to more contemporary worship. Similarly, The Hymnal 1982 provides the bulk of our hymnody, while various other sources (LEVAS II, Wonder Love and Praise) are used to ensure a broad and inclusive perspective to our music. An excellent choral program provides musical leadership Sunday by Sunday, and a new Schoenstein Organ (2006) lends dignity and variety to our musical offerings.

Aside from our dedicated choir, parishioners assist in worship by serving as acolytes, lectors, chalice bearers, ushers and overseers for children's worship. Preaching is highly valued at Christ Church and sermons from our pulpit are available on this website. The Holy Eucharist, Rite II is the standard offering each week at services beginning at 7:45 and 10:15. A mid-week Eucharist is offered Wednesdays at 12:10 p.m. in the chancel. Choral Evensong is Sung by our Evensong Choir at 4:00 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month from September thorough May and other seasonal offerings punctuate our life together throughout the year. Detailed service leaflets are available as you enter the church, and everyone is glad to help make you feel both welcomed and included.

Worship at Christ Church Cambridge is the heart of our community life together. It both draws us in and sends us out to do the work God has given us to do. We hope that you will come and worship with us. Perhaps God has a blessing waiting here for you.
