Christian Education at

Christ Church Cambridge for

Children, Youths, & Adults

Nursery Care

Infants through age three are welcome in the nursery room. The nursery is located on the lower level of the Parish House, first door on the left before you go into the Bigelow School.

Children's Ministries

Christian education for children takes place from 9:05-10:00 a.m. each Sunday morning. In 2006 four classes will meet: Preschool-Kindergarten, Grades 1 & 2, Grades 3-5 and Middle School (Grades 6-8). Children may be registered in Sunday School at age 3 ?. The two younger classes use the "Godly Play: program, while the older two make use of the "Living the Good News" resource in class. Both programs focus on the Biblical story and its incorporation into our lives.

All children and youth are welcome in church services at Christ Church.  During the 10:15 service sermon time, children ages 3-7 leave the sanctuary to go to "Children's Chapel," a time of presenting the Gospel of the Day to them in an age-appropriate way. The children rejoin their families in church at the Passing of the Peace.

Ministry with children is not confined to the classroom. Children and youth sing in the Youth Choir, serve as acolytes, and join in intergenerational activities throughout the year. Parents are invited to become involved, too, by teaching, helping with special events, extending special welcome to new families, becoming an user with a child--the possibilities are almost endless. Contact us to learn more.

The Deanery Youth Ministries Program

The Deanery Youth Ministries Program plans programs for high school youth throughout the year. For information contact the Christian Education Office.

Adult Education

Please join us for lectures and discussion in the Parish House auditorium from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.. Commonly called EdBlock, these offerings are designed to stimulate thought and provide insights into both Scripture and the ways people have chosen to proclaim Scripture with their lives and living.
